Ogbeni and all his O'agendas; the necessity to bow-out.

It is of necessity that the man who came to Osun state 8 years ago with all his O'agendas whether good or bad, laudable or corruptible must after the O'Yes and all others 'O's must taste of the final O-dabo, O-pari  and Oh-no.

I watched keenly the emergence of Rauf and I can say without fear or equivocation that he has done his best.  However, asking me how best is his best will  make you be in too much of a haste, therefore, join this train and let's see how far we can go together.

The people of Osun are arguably the most politically sensitive state in the country with enough track records to back it up. For so many reasons there are number of times that Osun people have refused to follow the political tendencies of their counterparts in the south-western region.
While it was obvious in 1999 that Obasanjo is the man others wanted to vote in, the Osun  people bluntly voted Olu Falae. They followed suit by voting Ribadu as against the popular Good-luck Jonathan. Osun people are sound and you can always see the gene of leadership anywhere and anytime.
In the Old Oyo state, Osun people were the ones leading the state, the  likes of Bola Ige, and Bisi Akande amongst others were giants who rocked those days. Oyinlola also ruled Lagos as a military man, I can go on and on.

The above genealogy was necessary to state that not until Rauf came, Osun has never voted in a Governor twice but Aregbesola broke the record in terms of the first governor to stay more than 4years in accordance to the law. Hence, his best as afore-mentioned.

"No matter how brilliant and intelligent you are, if you lack listening ears and humility there is every tendency that your intelligence will soon bring you to the camp of the fools."

The ability to hear feed-back as a leader and juxtapose it with your intention is of critical importance in governance.
The greatest man of all time in history had it documented against him to have asked his disciples "who do people see me to be?' In other words, what are people saying about my leadership?

Aregbe would have done excellently well but for his deafened ears and sheer arrogance of rigidity, little wonder, he struggled to bring about the result of September 27th.

Governance is a continuum and no one can finish the development of a society in a lifetime, therefore, I have not seen any government which comes and did not perform neither have I seen any that will not bring pains. As the saying goes that:
"pains and gains are intertwined on the journey to destiny realization."
However, the tendencies a man has will make the people judge his performances as either good or bad, also the expectation of the people is another measure for any leader. Aregbe has got a lot of tendencies and high hopes from the people but in carrying out his assignment he  failed to recognize posterity.

Your legacy will forever be there in history, and its effects will also continue to linger in the hearts of men. You only showed to the people of Osun that this is the best you can do:
to bring O-Yes programme which helped sanitize our environment and made it tidy, to do roads in at least every LGA, to bring O-Ambulance which has helped victims of accidents and women in labour, to do O-meal which helped to feed school pupils, to start Opon-Imo that is not sustainable, to gather schools together forgetting that it is proximities that encourages pupils and students to go to school, to give a single unform to all schools in Osun state which have been causing mayhem and confusion till date, to break the record of half-salary in history, to put Osun in deep debt that we might not sail through in years to come, to build beautiful mansion as schools when teachers are not encouraged and learning materials are not available.

I know as a man, you will by now when you sit in the confines of your room regret the pains you have caused people or maybe laugh them to scorn if they were intentional. Conscience is the best judge.

As we must bid you farewell today, we say farewell to half salary and all the evils of poverty, death of pensioners, confusion of school uniform amongst others that accompanied it.

And to Oyetola whether or not the court will allow you sit for 4years is still unknown but I am sure you saw and felt the waters of life that nearly got you drowned at the poll, it was so shocking that a government of 8 years could not get people's support, whether as a result of the attitude of your principal or because of your own personal attitude you might need to have a rethink, learn from your predecessor's mistake, get feed back and make judicious use of the moments you will stay in office, for as soon as you get the staff today, tick says the clock like I learnt in nursery, therefore what you have to do, do quick.

"History will not forgive he who has in his capacity to save ten (10) but saved eight (8), for failure might not be noticed because he seemingly looked successful, but failure must come because he has failed to deliver according to his capacity."

Peace to this land!

Never to be an Almajiri again.

Life as an almajiri in Kano was very tough. I could still remember how we went about in tens begging for alms and food. It’s really not a life anyone should live. I lived it years ago and could still tell exactly how it hurts; the memory of it and the hellish experiences we had  to bear. Almajiri life isn’t a life. It’s like being dead alive. I lived that life. I was ten when I decided to remove the cloak of destitution and face life squarely. It still remains the turning point in my life and the wisest decision I’d ever taken. I could still remember vividly what led me to take such a decision one afternoon. It was at Sabon Titi Kano. We were nine in number. We had trekked all the way from Bida Road. Ali, my best friend was saying something about how very unfair it was that girls were not allowed to  wander about begging as boys did. He said something about girls being lucky and fortunate because they were not subjected to the demeaning life that we lived. “But you don’t have to think

ILORIN: THE MUALIMAH IN A MARKET DANCE

If there’s one thing I hate writing about it is an opinion on Ilorin, my fatherland. It gives me no joy having to wield the hammer I called a pen and land it hardly on the baldhead of my homeland. If I were to describe how I felt each time I wrote an opinion on any incidence regarding this land, no time, I say none, and no time did I felt good. And the reasons are not farfetched; I am always torn in between emotions and saying the naked truth. It had never been lost on me that family, no matter what, is family. However, it seems I am alone on that, maybe I am not. But the odds seem small. The thinking ones, specifically among the youth, are not much. The recent actions and inactions, reports and incidences of immortality and irresponsibility by some sons and daughters of the Emirate clearly affirm my earlier stance.  And this time, neither for emotions or fear of misunderstanding would I be garbing irresponsibility with the robe of nobility or be dressing a clear, crestfallen values an
